The EP-2CM is a Ready-to-Run electronic distributor for Ford's 351 Cleveland, 429, and 460 cubic inch V8 engines — the powerplants that defined Ford's performance lineup in the muscle car era. The 351 Cleveland is celebrated for its high-flow canted-valve heads and broad power band, while the 429 Cobra Jet and 460 big block engines brought raw displacement power to Torinos, Thunderbirds, and heavy F-series trucks. Replacing the aging points ignition in these engines with a modern electronic system is one of the most effective reliability upgrades available.

The EP-2CM replaces the points and condenser with a maintenance-free magnetic pickup and internal electronic module, eliminating the periodic dwell angle adjustment that points systems require. The adjustable mechanical advance allows precise timing curve tailoring for the specific compression and camshaft combination, and the vacuum advance canister restores part-throttle efficiency on street-driven builds. Two-wire installation is significantly simpler than the multi-wire harness of the Ford Duraspark system this unit commonly replaces.

Critical fitment note: the EP-2CM is designed for the Ford 351 Cleveland, 351M, 400M, 429, and 460 engine family. It is NOT interchangeable with the Ford 351 Windsor — the Windsor uses a different block architecture and distributor shaft depth. For the 351 Windsor, order the EP-2CM-1.
