How to maintain the sprocket

  1.  The tightness of the sprocket should be appropriate. Too tight will increase power consumption, and the bearing is easy to wear; The chain wheel is too loose and easy to jump and fall off. The tightness of the sprocket is: it is lifted or pressed from the middle of the sprocket, which is about 2% - 3% of the distance between the cores of the two sprockets.
  2.  The sprocket shall be installed on the shaft without swing and skew. The end faces of two sprockets in the same drive assembly shall be in the same plane. When the center distance of the sprocket is less than 0.5m, the deviation can be 1mm; When the center distance of the sprocket is more than 0.5m, the deviation can be 2mm. However, it is not allowed to have friction on the side of sprocket teeth. If the two wheels are offset too much, it is easy to cause chain release and accelerated wear.   3.  When the sprocket is seriously worn, it shall be replaced with a new one at the same time to ensure good engagement. It is not allowed to replace the sprocket with a new one alone, or it will cause poor engagement and accelerate the wear of the new sprocket. The sprocket shall be turned over for use in time after it is worn to a certain extent to extend the service time.
  4. The new sprocket is too long or stretched after use, which is difficult to adjust. The link can be removed according to the situation, but it should be even. The chain link should pass through the back of the sprocket, and the locking plate should be inserted outside. The opening of the locking plate should face the opposite direction of the transmission.
  5. The sprocket shall be filled with lubricating oil in time during operation. The lubricating oil shall enter the fitting clearance between the roller and the inner sleeve to change the working conditions and reduce wear.
  6. The old sprocket cannot be mixed with some new ones, otherwise it is easy to have impact in the transmission and break the sprocket.
  7.  When the machine is stored for a long time, the chain wheel should be removed and cleaned with kerosene or diesel oil, and then coated with engine oil or butter and stored in a dry place.

How to select the proper sprocket correctly?

  1. Select the correct chain wheel model and material according to the model or model.
  2. Check whether the components for installing the sprocket are If all fastening and connecting parts are intact, they can be adjusted, replaced or repaired in case of problems.

  4. After installing the drive chain and adjusting the tightness, check whether the chain and sprocket fit smoothly, coplanar and have no interference with the chain guard. After installation, the drive chain should be reinforced. If conditions permit, the chain wheel and chain can be regularly maintained and lubricated. If they are used for a long time, lubrication and maintenance can be carried out. This can improve their service life. If they need to be more slippery, matching replacement should be carried out.
