The EP-8572 is an HEI tach drive distributor for Chevrolet small block and big block V8 applications requiring mechanical tachometer drive. Like the Corvette-specific EP-10TB, the EP-8572 serves the broader SBC/BBC range of applications where a mechanical tachometer cable connects to the distributor — including non-Corvette applications such as early Novas, Chevelles, and custom street rods with mechanical tachometers.

The EP-8572 provides the same complete HEI conversion as the standard EP-10C and EP-10BK with the addition of the mechanical tachometer drive gear that preserves factory tachometer function after HEI conversion. Without a tach drive distributor, any Chevy vehicle with a mechanical tachometer would lose its gauge function after HEI installation.

Disconnect battery, mark rotor and housing positions, remove old unit, lower EP-8572, connect tach cable first then BAT wire and vacuum advance. Set timing with timing light. Verify tachometer response before finalizing. Approximately 30-45 minutes.
