The EP-TD-23 is a complete ignition distributor for the second-generation Acura Integra (1990-1991) fitted with a manual transmission. The Acura Integra B18A is a 1.8L DOHC four-cylinder of legendary reputation in the performance community -- lightweight, rev-happy, and extremely reliable with proper maintenance of key items including the distributor.

The TD-23 specification is designated for the manual transmission Integra only. The automatic transmission variant of the same 1990-91 Integra uses a different distributor timing reference due to the different crank signal behavior in AT vs MT configurations. Always verify whether your Integra is manual or automatic before ordering.

Ships complete with cap and rotor. OEM references 30100-PR4-A03 and 30100-PR4-A05 are covered, alongside TD-23U and TD-24U identifiers. Cardone 84-17418 and Dorman 690-119 are the primary aftermarket references.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a TEC and a Hitachi Honda distributor?
For most 1988-2000 Honda Civic and Accord models, Honda sourced distributors from two suppliers: TEC (Tokai Rika Electric) and Hitachi. The TEC and Hitachi distributors are NOT interchangeable -- they use different cap bolt patterns, different rotors, different internal components, and different external housing dimensions. You must replace your distributor with the same manufacturer type as the original. To identify your type, look for the letters TEC or the round Hitachi logo stamped on the side of your existing distributor housing. TD-series part numbers (TD-41, TD-42, TD-80, etc.) are typically TEC units. D4T and D6P prefix part numbers are Hitachi units.
What are the symptoms of a failing Honda distributor?
The most common Honda distributor failure symptoms include: intermittent no-start condition especially when the engine is hot (engine starts cold but fails to restart after reaching operating temperature -- a classic igniter failure pattern); rough or erratic idle; hesitation or stumbling under acceleration; a bouncing tachometer needle (classic sign of a failing igniter module); check engine light with OBD1 Code 9 (CYP sensor fault on 1992-1995 models) or OBD2 codes P0335/P0336 (CKP sensor), P1361/P1362 (TDC sensor), P1381/P1382 (CYP sensor), or P1399 (general misfire) on 1996-2000 models; and oil contamination inside the distributor cap (indicating failure of the internal shaft seal, part NOK BH3888E on TEC non-VTEC applications).
Why does the 1990-91 Integra MT and AT use different distributors?
The manual transmission Integra uses distributor TD-23 (30100-PR4-A03/A05) while the automatic uses a different specification. This is because Honda's EFI ECU uses the distributor's cam position signal for fuel injection timing, and the MT and AT ECU calibrations have slightly different ignition timing requirements. Installing the AT distributor in an MT Integra (or vice versa) can cause the ECU to set fault codes or run with incorrect base timing. Always verify MT or AT before ordering.
What is the difference between OBD1 and OBD2 Honda distributors?
Honda transitioned from OBD1 to OBD2 engine management for the 1996 model year in North America. OBD1 distributors (1992-1995) use two connectors -- a small plug for the igniter and a larger plug for the cam position sensors (CYP, TDC, CKP). OBD2 distributors (1996-2000) typically use a single larger connector. The internal sensor configuration also differs: OBD1 distributors contain CYP (Cylinder Position), TDC (Top Dead Centre), and CKP (Crank Position) sensors inside the distributor housing. OBD2 distributors move some sensors to the crankshaft position. OBD1 and OBD2 distributors are not plug-in compatible without wiring modification. Always verify your vehicle year to order the correct OBD generation.
How do I order EP-TD-23 for export or wholesale?
EP supports single-unit orders for market sampling, carton quantities for repair shops and parts counters, and container-volume wholesale orders. Standard production lead time is 15-30 days. OEM branding and private-label packaging are available for qualifying volumes. Contact our team via the inquiry form or WhatsApp for pricing and availability.
