2. Working Principle

The EP-50-300W employs field-oriented control (FOC) of a permanent magnet synchronous motor. DC bus voltage is converted to three-phase sinusoidal AC using high-frequency PWM. Rotor position is sensed in real-time via Hall-effect sensors or optional encoders. The microcontroller decomposes stator current into torque (q) and flux (d) components, independently regulating speed and torque for smooth, efficient operation from standstill to maximum speed.

Sinusoidal modulation minimizes harmonics, reducing motor heating, vibration, and acoustic noise. Regenerative braking returns energy to the battery during deceleration. The compact PCB integrates power stage, current sensing, gate drivers, and protection circuitry.
