Worm Gear Reducer Lubrication
The gears and bearings of the gearbox are lubricated by oil splashed from the oil sump. The modular series Worm Reducers are equipped with an oil dipstick-filter and breather. Apart from occasional oil filling to the required level, no special care is needed. Chloroprene rubber lip seals are installed on the input and output shafts. Forced lubrication is required for extremely low speeds below 50 rpm. The reducer is not filled with lubricant oil and must be filled with the correct amount. Care must be taken not to exceed the proper oil level, as overfilling can cause oil agitation, resulting in overheating and oil leakage.
