Basic Construction

- Sun Gear: located at the center of the planetary gearbox, typically fixed to the input shaft or the housing as a stationary component.
- Planet Gears: revolving around the sun gear, supported and kept in relative position by the planet carrier. Each planet gear meshes with both the sun gear and the internal gear, sharing and distributing the load when power is inputted.

Working Principle

- Torque Transmission and Amplification: when power is transmitted from the input shaft to the sun gear, the sun gear starts to rotate, and the planet gears mesh with both the sun gear and the internal gear, thus beginning to rotate and revolve. Due to the combined effect of multiple sets of planet gears, the load of the entire system is evenly distributed, thereby significantly increasing the output torque and achieving torque amplification.
- Speed and Gear Ratio Control: by adjusting the tooth number ratio of the sun gear, planet gear, and internal gear, the speed relationship and gear ratio between input and output can be precisely controlled. For example, if the number of planet gears is large or the tooth number difference between the sun gear and internal gear is large, the gear ratio increases, the output speed decreases, and the torque correspondingly increases.
