Progressive Lubrication System

The progressive lubrication system primarily consists of a lubricating oil pump, a progressive working distributor, and various pipes that connect the pump to the distributor and the distributor to each oil supply point. In this system, the lubricant (either grease or oil) is sprayed by the lubricating oil pump and distributed to each oil supply point in a progressive manner through the progressive working distributor. The system can be driven manually, electrically, pneumatically, or hydraulically.

Progressive Lubrication System and Its Working Principle

1. The progressive lubrication system includes an electric grease pump unit, a progressive distributor, pipeline components, and electrical monitoring systems.
2. Grease is transported by the grease pump, which is then precisely divided by the progressive distributor before being delivered to the lubrication points.
3. Once a specific outlet of the distributor releases grease, the next outlet becomes ready to discharge, making it easy to monitor the lubrication process.

The Role of the Safety Valve in the Progressive Lubrication System

The progressive lubrication system provides continuous lubrication while the pump is operational. When the pump stops, the piston of the progressive metering device remains in its current position. When the pump resumes supplying lubricating oil, the piston will continue its operation from where it left off. If only one lubrication point becomes blocked, the progressive line for that outlet will cease to function, but the pump will keep running, causing the pressure in the pipeline assembly to rise. Once the pressure reaches the value set by the safety valve, it will open to release the pressure, thereby protecting the pump motor from overload.

The progressive piston distributor is an advanced device designed to distribute lubricants in a controlled manner using hydraulic mechanisms. It operates by adjusting its piston according to the lubricant supplied. This design facilitates the continuous discharge of lubricant from multiple outlets through an interconnected pipeline system.

During the lubrication process, it is essential that the lubricating lines and points remain clear. Any obstruction in either the lubricant pipe or the lubrication point can lead to blockages within the distributor itself. To mitigate the risks associated with such blockages, the distributor is equipped with a blocking alarm, which serves as a crucial safety feature by alerting operators to potential issues.

In manual operation scenarios, blockages can lead to significant pressure buildup, making it difficult to continue the lubrication process and causing operational inefficiencies. Conversely, in systems utilizing an automatic pump, such as the electric pump model EP-EALP-G, the handling of blockages is more efficient. In the event of a blockage, the lubricant is safely released through a safety valve, protecting the system from damage and ensuring uninterrupted operation.

One of the key advantages of the progressive distributor is its variable displacement structure. This design enables the distributor to dynamically adjust the number of blockages according to the number of lubrication points. Consequently, a single block allocator can manage different displacements, supporting complete progressive distribution.

Output variation for each piston stroke is achieved by using pistons of varying diameters. This innovation ensures that each lubrication point receives the appropriate amount of lubricant tailored to its specific needs.

To ensure the proper functioning of the progressive distributor, it is crucial to have at least three pistons in operation, which corresponds to a minimum of three distributor blocks. This configuration is vital for achieving balanced and effective lubricant distribution throughout the system, optimizing performance and extending the lifespan of the machinery involved.
