The EP-455 is a complete HEI distributor for the Pontiac V8 engine family — one of the most celebrated and distinctive American V8 designs, powering the legendary GTO, Firebird, and Trans Am. Pontiac engineers designed their own V8 independent of Chevrolet, with unique displacement choices, combustion chamber designs, and distributor specifications. The Pontiac 400 and 455 are particular favorites in the performance community for their broad power bands and excellent torque characteristics.

Pontiac V8 engines use their own distributor mounting location and drive specifications, requiring a Pontiac-specific HEI unit rather than a generic Chevrolet adaptation. The EP-455 is correctly dimensioned for the Pontiac V8 block, covering the full range from the 350 base engine through the 455 High Output in Firebird Trans Am applications.
