Basic Construction
The High Precision Planetary Gearbox consists of the following parts:
1. Sun Gear
The central gear that is usually fixed to the input shaft or the gearbox housing as the stationary component.
2. Planet Gears
The gears that revolve around the sun gear and rotate on their own axes, supported and maintained in relative positions by the planet carrier. The planet gears mesh with both the sun gear and the internal ring gear, and distribute and share the load when power is transmitted.
3. Planet Carrier
The structure with multiple planet gear shaft holes that supports and allows the planet gears to rotate relative to the sun gear. The planet carrier can serve as an output element or connect to another shaft to transmit or receive torque.
4. Ring Gear/Annulus
The large-diameter circular gear fixed inside the gearbox housing with teeth on both inner and outer surfaces that mesh with the planet gears. In some applications, the internal ring gear can also serve as an input or output end.
5. Bearings and Shaft System
The bearings support the input shaft, output shaft, and planet carrier in the high precision planetary gearbox to ensure stable rotation and smooth operation between the components.
6. Housing
The solid structure that encloses all internal components and provides stable support for the gears. It also protects the internal parts from impurities and may contain cooling or lubrication systems.
7. Shafts and Keys

Working Principle
The High Precision Planetary Gearbox works based on the following principles:
1. Torque Transmission and Amplification
When power is transmitted from the input shaft to the sun gear, the sun gear begins to rotate, and the planet gears mesh with both the sun gear and the internal ring gear, causing them to revolve and rotate on their own axes. The multiple sets of planet gears work together to distribute and share the load, resulting in a significant increase in torque on the output end, thus achieving torque amplification.
2. Speed and Ratio Control
The speed relationship and gear ratio between the input and output can be precisely controlled by adjusting the tooth count ratio between the sun gear, planet gears, and internal ring gear. For example, if there are more planet gears or there is a large difference in tooth count between the sun gear and internal ring gear, the gear ratio will increase, and the output speed will decrease, while the torque will increase correspondingly.
3. Low Backlash Characteristic
