Angular Contact Spherical Plain Bearings

The sliding contact surfaces of angular contact spherical plain bearings are spherical in shape and inclined at an angle to the bearing axis. Consequently, these bearings are well suited for accommodating combined (radial and axial) loads. Single angular contact spherical plain bearings can only accommodate axial loads acting in one direction. These bearings can be separated, enabling the rings to be mounted separately.

Angular contact spherical plain bearing to be service is constructed with a washer for the shaft with a sliding external spherical surface positioned obliquely and with a washer for housing with a sliding concave spherical surface. The spherical plain bearing with oblique contact is characteristic of absorbing combined loads (in the axial and radial direction); it can therefore be mounted in pairs (coupled). It presents the exact encumbrance as series 320; tapered roller bearing; it can consequently be supplementary as sliding bearing, where the application of revolving bearing would create functional complications. As for the maintenance, the standard models require lubrication with grease; other types require an oil bath lubrication means a groove.
