However, actual load conditions may vary or fluctuate depending on the application type, and in order to address the same, it is necessary to consider the use factor to achieve equivalent load or design power. Therefore, the equivalent load = actual load x service factor mechanical rated value and service factor mechanical rated value for capacity measured in terms of life and/or strength, assuming continuous operation for 10 hours per day under uniform load conditions. If the equipment operates for more than 10 hours per day, the mechanical service factor should be selected based on the type of prime mover, number of operating hours per day, and the application type to which the equipment is connected and its load characteristics, ensuring that the catalog rated value of gears allows for momentary 100% overloads during start-up, braking, or running, up to a maximum of 10 times per day. Therefore, the catalog rated value of the selected equipment should be at least equal to or greater than half of the maximum overload achieved during its operation. By comparing the actual transmission load with the catalog rated values, the service life of the gearbox can be determined.
