We have created custom ring gears for both OEM and aftermarket applications, and can produce the most complex ring gear designs. We work to your specifications and all critical contact surfaces are held to your tolerances (up to 0.0001"). Every ring gear we manufacture is put through our rigorous QA procedures. We can provide our clients with AGMA Level 12 quality gears. Both inch and metric unit ring gears are available. Fine pitch gears are our specialty.

The flywheel ring gear is a carbon steel ring with teeth fitted to the flywheel that is engaged by the starter gear to transfer torque and begin the engine cycle. It is made to last; however, the teeth can still wear down or break. If the starter has been replaced and the gears don't align correctly, it may wear out the ring gear or starter gear. This can cause issues with starting the vehicle such as grinding noises or not starting at all. It is also possible for the starter gear spring to wear out and not engage the flywheel. If you are having issues with the starter not engaging with the flywheel, you may need a replacement starter or flywheel ring gear.
